<p>➀ The Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) project has released a 270TB dataset mapping 13.1 million galaxies and 1.6 million quasars.</p><p>➁ The map covers more than 14,000 square degrees of sky, nearly one-third of the entire night sky.</p><p>➂ DESI allows researchers to map objects up to 11 billion light-years away and observe patterns in the cosmos called baryonic acoustic oscillations (BAOs).</p>
