Apple is reportedly working on a redesign of the Magic Mouse, a product that has remained largely unchanged for the past 15 years.

The original Magic Mouse was met with criticism due to its design and the location of its charging port. The design was considered odd by many, with its ergonomics being difficult to grasp and the lack of a comfortable resting place for the middle of the hand during use.

The charging port's location on the flat underside of the mouse made it impossible to use the mouse while charging. These issues were addressed in the second and third generations of the Magic Mouse, which introduced a USB-C port instead of the Lightning port of its predecessors.

However, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, a well-known and reliable Apple insider, has reported that Apple is now working on a new Magic Mouse that aims to fix both of these flaws. The new design is expected to include a repositioned charging port and new software to complement the mouse. According to Gurman, the new Magic Mouse is likely to be released in approximately 12 to 18 months.
